Mountain Creek Lodge

Est. 1929

About

Welcome to the Mountain Creek Lodge! We are Jason & Vitaly and we own this gem in the Appalachian Mountains since March 20, 2024

Previously known as "Minniehaha" (which supposedly meant "laughing waters" in native Indian language), this original log cabin is now named after the large creek flowing right behind it. Located in the Pine Grove Furnace State Park within the vast 90,000 acre Michaux State Forest, this lodge is our peaceful retreat into the nature.

Resources

Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is the main government agency in charge of state parks and forests. They have a lot of useful information about activities, rules and seasonal restrictions listed on their website

Pine Grove Furnace State Park rangers are usually at the office during the business hours right up the road from the lodge. There is an emergency phone right in front of the office building. Inside the office there is a gift shop with local memorabilia. Office Phone: 717-486-7174, Manager: Christopher Houck

Friends of Pine Grove Furnace State Park is a volunteer group that has a very active page on Facebook with regularly updated local news

The Appalachian Trail Museum is just a minute up the road, and it is the only museum in the U.S. dedicated to hiking. There are three stories to visit, including a children's' A.T. adventure on the first floor. There is a gift shop on the main third level. Museum is seasonal, check website for hours

The South Mountain Partnership is a network of people and businesses who share their expertise and resources to protect and promote this region in Adams, Cumberland, Franklin and York counties. They have a nice Guide brochure about this area (click here)
